MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
The program is designed for adult lyrical singers without age restrictions who aspire to take part in a professional training initiative. This initiative provides them with the chance to gain valuable experience at an advanced artistic level, aiming to kickstart their careers and ease their transition into the professional music industry.
It is necessary to have basic health coverage throughout the training period. Additionally, candidates from outside the European Union must have a valid study visa for Spain. In order to facilitate these procedures and guarantee that all candidates meet the necessary requirements, the festival has a registration option that includes the services of a team of advisors dedicated exclusively to visa management and providing support on issues related to health coverage.

GENERAL INFORMATION
The Festival mainly consists of the Opera Studio Masterclass, scheduled from August 10 to 22, focusing on the roles and the entire staging process of Giacomo Puccini's opera, La Bohème. The Masterclass will culminate with public performances on August 23, 24, and 25, featuring the selected students chosen by the Organization. Please note that participation in these performances will be unpaid.
The Masterclass is open to opera singers of any nationality who possess adequate experience to perform the assigned role in the opera. It is highly recommended that participants arrive at the beginning of the Opera Studio with their role thoroughly memorized to make the most of the Opera Studio Masterclass. There are no age restrictions for participants.
The 3rd edition of the Maskarade Opera Festival will be held in Santander, Cantabria, Spain.
- SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS
The submission period for applications is from March 1, 2024, to June 7, 2024. To complete this process, applicants must fill out the registration form and attach the required documentation. The application for admission will be submitted via an online form, which must be completed accurately. Due to the limited number of available spots, it is advisable to complete and submit the form as early as possible to secure participation.
Participants must indicate their voice type and preferred role on the registration form.
Those interested can choose between:

Rodolfo, Mimí, Marcello, Musetta, Schaunard and Colline

Apply to participate in one of the supporting roles in the opera "La Bohème":
Benoît, Alcindoro, Parpignol and Sergeant of the customs officers.
Candidates are invited to choose the participation modality that best suits their needs:
Main Role
(Students residing in the European Union)
Includes:

Individual singing, interpretation, and stage classes.

Preparation of the assigned role with the assistance of an expert répétiteur.

Mentoring and collaborative work with Musical Director Christian Frattima.

Rehearsals with the stage director, if selected to perform one of the main roles.

Participation in the lyrical concerts held at the Baroque Palace of Elsedo, an 18th-century historical building located in Pámanes, where scenes from the opera 'La Bohème' will be presented.

Debut in the assigned role in at least one of the performances, if selected.

Active participation in all scheduled meetings and rehearsals.

Characterization of the character, including costume and makeup.

Diploma certifying participation in the Opera Studio
Does not include:

Transfers, Accommodation, and Meals. The Organization will offer the possibility to book accommodation at exclusive prices for Festival participants.
Main Role

Also Include:
Visa Support: Support is offered with the visa application process, providing guidance and assistance at every step to ensure a seamless experience.
Translation Services: Translation services are available to ensure clear and effective communication throughout the entire process, from the initial application to participation in the opera studio.
Logistical Support: Assistance is provided in organizing all logistical aspects of your experience in the opera studio in Spain, including accommodation, transportation, and rehearsal schedules.

Title: La Bohème
La Bohème immerses us in the bohemian world of a group of young artists in Paris, narrating the adventures and misadventures of four young people who live together in an attic.
G. Puccini's work recounts the experiences of four bohemians who share their lives in the Latin Quarter of Paris during the 1840s, experiencing the joys and challenges of love. The protagonists, the poet Rodolfo, the painter Marcello, the musician Schaunard, and the philosopher Colline, are faced with the complexities of the feelings of Mimi, a modest seamstress, and Musetta, a singer of a more striking character.

Study plan
The production, whose presentation and welcome to participants will take place on August 10, 2024, and will cover a total of two weeks of activity, which will include a training period, previous rehearsals, and two performances. Full details and a daily activity schedule will be provided once registration is complete.
